Obtaining a Building Permit

Construction and Permits

The City of Cody requires that property owners or licensed city contractors obtain a building permit to erect, construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, improve, remove, convert or demolish any structure or building regulated by the adopted codes. In addition, separate permits are required for fencing, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC work. Building permits are also required for new signs once approved by the Planning Division.

There are times during the building process when certain types of inspections are mandatory. It is your responsibility to notify the Building Division and arrange for an inspection time.
