Overview

The Streets Division works to clean the City streets through the use of two street sweepers. The City is broken into areas, which are swept at least twice annually. Sweeping is weather-dependent.

A new sweeping program was introduced in April of 2013. The intent of this program was to to ease some of the parking troubles that arise when working to clean the gutters in each area.

When working in an area, the sweepers will be sweeping the north and east sides of the streets on Monday and Tuesday; they will then sweep the south and west sides of the streets on Wednesday and Thursday. Notifications of residents and businesses in the area to be swept will be made via the Blackboard Connect system, and by placing signed barrels in the area. During the fall, sweepers focus on areas with heavy-leaf concentrations.
