Adopt a Park and Adopt A Trail Programs

About

The City of Cody Parks Department maintains more than 400 acres of parkland, trails, and open space, all of which are a focal point and asset to our community. Funding to maintain these spaces is limited and the Cody City Council has created an Adopt a Park and Adopt a Trail programs to offset these costs.

Volunteers take responsibility for one segment of a trail or park by providing labor and equipment to maintain the park or trail:

    • Planting
    • Weeding
    • Litter cleanup, etc.
Volunteers are recognized with a sign designating their participation and a certificate of appreciation from the Mayor. Parks and trail sections are allotted to volunteers on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Interested groups (family, service, scout, church, etc.) should contact the Parks Division to adopt a park, open space, or trail section to maintain the beauty of our community.
