Barry A. Cook was appointed as City Administrator by the Mayor and Council in August 2014. Barry began his career in local government as a Circuit Rider Administrator in Fremont County, Wyoming. He then moved to his hometown of Wheatland, Wyoming, where he served as the Town's Treasurer.
Continuing his career in local government, Barry served as the City Administrator for the City of Post Falls, Idaho. Most recently Barry was the City Administrator for the City of Green River, Wyoming for 18 years before moving to Cody, Wyoming.
Barry received a Master of Public Administration degree from Golden Gate University and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Wyoming. He is a member of the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) and the Great Open Spaces City Management Association (GOSCMA).
Actively involved as a lobbyist, Barry has served on the Board of Directors and several committees for the Wyoming Association of Municipalities (WAM). He enjoys being part of the Cody community and has been involved in local Rotary and Kiwanis organizations. Barry's hobbies include reading, golfing, hiking, camping, and traveling. Barry and his wife, Suzi, have four children and three grandchildren.
