Diane Ballard moved to Cody 32 years ago after earning a marketing degree from Penn State


As a 15-year Cody Country Chamber of Commerce employee, Diane led the Buffalo Bill Art

Show Committee, Retail Committee, and Ambassadors Committee; Diane also provided

administrative support to the Chamber Board of Directors. While employed at the Cody

Regional Health Prevention and Wellness Office, she led a Youth Substance Abuse Prevention

Task Group. She enjoyed assisting with administration and events while working at the Simpson

Gallagher Gallery. A founding board member for the Park County Leadership Institute, she later

enrolled in the program then served on the PCLI Steering Committee.

Presently, she is an office manager for Ballard Painting—her husband Rusty’s 34-year Cody painting business—and Program Director for Bright Futures Mentoring.

Diane’s daughter Paige attends the University of Nebraska. Diane enjoys playing music,

camping, mountain biking, hiking, dancing, and mostly family time.

Diane Ballard was appointed to the City Council in 2019.
